Jon Stewart vs Yale Law

Unfortunately I could not find a direct video to post so you could watch the interview on this page. I will provide a link below so you can watch and judge for yourself.

On the January 31, 2012 episode of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, his guest was Jonathan Macey – Professor of Corporate Law, Corporate Finance, and Securities Law. As you will see, the discussion is quite interesting.

As I have said many times, Jon Stewart is a bit of a hero to me. Definitely one of the 10 ultimate dinner guests I would have. And you may notice as you watch this video that for all the jokes, the man is smart and does his homework. Pay particular attention to the Professor’s body language as this progresses.

Nothing more need be said. Judge for yourself.

For those outside the U.S., you should be able to see it here.

For those in the U.S., you should be able to see the extended interview:

Ya I saw this episode last night and I was just blown away as to how Jon Stewart put this guy in place. The professor was clearly on the side of the banking system and Jon Stewart did an excellent job showing that the system is criminal and immoral at the least e.g. Bane Capital and Dade international. I gotta say I would love to sit down with Mr. Stewart and ask him questions on the economy and the legalization of Marijuana.

I don’t know if you ever saw Jon take on Jim Cramer but that is something that was almost painful to watch as this guy dug himself a hole and finally threw up his hands in defeat. And frankly I think we all know what is wrong with the economy. Everyone’s God of industry Steve Jobs was just as guilty of it as anyone. Let’s use cheap, abused labour overseas to keep prices down or more to the point, maximize profits – because nothing else matters. Any company exec who say they love America is full of shit. They’d rather stuff their pockets and destroy the middle class while smiling taking your money and saying ‘sorry about your luck’.

As for legalizing weed, I’m sure he’d be for it (throw Bill Maher in for fun there too). And just watch if our Canadian Liberal Party gets back with a majority, one of the platforms they have suggested is just that. I can’t imagine what a boost for the tourist trade THAT would be! 😉

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts…
