In Silence

The fog lay thick
Behind the veil
A milk-mist wall
Impenetrable

While steel may cut
Through reality
No will can make it
Past its density

Within is the whirl
The swirl and the pain
Without is the quiet
Withdrawn with the blame

Stirred, yet in silence
Still and so small
A drop like the rainfall
Both out and still in
Near as the distance
Far, yes away
What potential today?
No anger, no fear and no sin

All attempts at a breach
Turned back without sound
The stare lost and lonely
Surely wanting of found

I simmer and sit
Knowing less what to do
The reach just beyond me
A lover’s test fool

Will time help diminish
Will patience gain access
Is hope there or hopeless
Can love save the lapses?

Stirred, yet in silence
Still and so small
A drop like the rainfall
Both out and still in
Near as the distance
Far, yes away
What potential today?
No anger, no fear and no sin

  1. Strikingly profound!
I have read this several times and get a different ‘vibe’ from it on each read.
    Thank you for sharing :)
