Agave – Black Dub

Watch/Listen here:

Black Dub as many of you will know is the brainchild of Daniel Lanois. Brian Blade, drummer extraordinaire, is central to the sound. Various combinations of the band have put out some incredible stuff. One of my most popular posts ever was I’d Rather Go Blind which you can see/read here.

The latest album is called Steel and is all instrumental. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a bad song from anything this band has produced. This track, Agave, is reminiscent of the southwest. Invoking images of sparse desert, dry, parched land and then soaring to wide open vistas. Picture it as you listen. Your mind’s vision will pan across the stark and the beautiful. This song is best left to your own imagination and feeling. Feel free to tell me your story as well.
