New U2 – The Flowering Rose of Glastonbury – updated

U2 are in Turin currently rehearsing for the restart of the 360 tour. There have been rumblings that they would play a new song or two as part of the updated show. That was confirmed Sunday with the playing of this:

Best guess based on what I can hear is that this is called The Flowering Rose of Glastonbury. Perhaps something they had written for the Glastonbury event they missed because of Bono’s back injury.

The title is interesting. According to some folklore, Glastonbury is considered The Matrix of God. A portal if you will. And the symbolism used in the area is the Rose. A specific rose used as the symbol for Mary Magdalene.

Anyway, I took a crack at the lyrics. It’s rough and much is likely wrong but I think I got the bulk of the words. Send any corrections or additions you can decipher!
