Sentient

Sentient 1

Sitting here, watching
Waiting for time
Waiting for the day
Waiting for the moment

It begins again

I hoped I wouldn’t
Said it can’t
Said it never
Said it won’t

Too late now

For a sentient human
You’d think I’d know
You’d think I’d see
You’d think I’d care

Stumbling

So I make the wish
Changing the rules
Changing the place
Changing myself

Ever pursuing

Can I be happy?

With coulds and shoulds
Being conscious
Being selfless
Being real

Honest
